This fleur de lis and crown was found at
the Palace of Versailles, France.
The fleur de lis has been used as a symbol since the 10th century
B.C. It is best known for having been borne upon the royal arms
of France. In addition, it referred to the French royal family,
the French flag (before 1789), and the French nation or government.
"Everytime I close my eyes blowing that trumpet
of mine – I look right into the heart of good old New Orleans
– it has given me something to live for." –Louis
Armstrong
