In 1996, I moved to New York where I worked for Christie’s Auction House. Within a year, a sense of nostalgia overwhelmed me and I returned home to New Orleans. After returning, I developed a strong curiosity to learn about its history. As my knowledge increased, I decided to create art that would be a true testament of the love I have for this beautiful city. To convey this endearment to tourists and locals, Heather Elizabeth Designs was formed in 2002.
Hurricane Katrina Survivor:

On 3/25/06, a customer brought me her bracelet that had been submerged in 5 1/2 feet of brackish water for over 2 1/2 weeks. It was very emotional to see that one of my bracelets had survived the ravages of the storm. My customer was so pleased to see that the pictures had held up so well. My customer's home was in a neighborhood we call, "Mid City". It will be years before New Orleanians can say Katrina without tears flowing from our eyes. And even then, I think we will still cry.
